Close by are the Nymphenburg Palace (built for the Bavarian kings and boasting a splendid Baroque style), the 18th-century Asamkirche church, the delightful Marienplatz square and Munich's old city centre with its outdoor cafés and splendid neo-Gothic town hall. Also not to be missed are the Englischer Garten (Europe's largest park, which stretches for 3 miles along the River Isar), the National Theatre Opera House and, of course, the world famous biergarten and beer halls such as Hofbräuhaus.

From Munich Main Station “Hauptbahnhof”:
Leave the train station through the main entrance. Turn left and walk down the road. After 2 traffic lights you will already see The Charles on your right hand side. The entrance is facing the Old Botanical Garden. The journey from the main station to the takes about 5 minutes.
With local transportation from Franz-Joseph-Strauss Airport (MUC):
Follow the signs within the terminal to LOCAL RAILWAY STATION. Purchase a ticket EINZELFAHRT MÜNCHEN from one of the ticket machines. The S-Bahn (suburban train) line 1 or 8 goes directly to Munich city centre, to the main train station. Then follow directions above. The journey from the Airport to the takes about 50 minutes (without waiting time).
