This 4-star property, located in the picturesque town of Windermere, is set in a quiet area just off Church Street, within walking distance of the train station, shops and restaurants.
Wheatlands Lodge is a traditional family owned and run Lake District residence, dating from around 1860 set in delightful gardens. The property has recently undergone a total refurbishment in 2007, introducing contemporary style, yet still retaining many of its original features.
This friendly lodge has the benefit of free on-site parking which is unique to this area, considering the short walking distance to the main attractions of Lake Windermere.

There are 9 rooms, each is decorated with individual character, style and design. They are elegantly appointed and spacious with all the latest fully coordinated fabrics and soft furnishings.
Food & beverage
The dining area is delightfully decorated giving a light and airy feel. In the summer months guests can take advantage of the garden and enjoy alfresco dining, eating a delicious traditional Cumbrian breakfast whilst absorbing the wonderful surroundings. There is also an extensive cold table offering all the foods you would expect. All ingredients are locally sourced to ensure the best quality including an endless supply of fresh coffee and a variety of teas.
Area information
Windermere is the central location for tourism in the Lake District and Wheatlands Lodge is ideally situated a couple of minutes walk from the main village, with its excellent shops, fine restaurants and bistros. From the doorstep there are many walks without the need to use a car. An easy walk down into Bowness and there is the home to the world of Beatrix Potter. Walk throughout Bowness to the lakeshore where you will find the pier that takes the lake cruises from Bowness to Ambleside, or Lakeside where you can enjoy the Aquarium of the lake or journey a little further on one of the steam trains on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway. There are many things to do to suit all tastes within easy reach either by car or on one of the many trips organised in the area.

From the M6 junction 36:
- Follow the A590 which becomes the A591 to Windermere (about 16 miles).
- Then turn left into Windermere village (signposted Bowness and The Lake).
- Drive through the traffic lights and take the second turning on the right-hand side.
- Look out for the Lakeland Insurance building on the corner of Old College Lane.

Please note that a 2 night minimum stay applies to this property for Fridays and Saturdays from February to October.
A non-refundable and transferable deposit for the cost of the first night's stay will be taken prior to reservation.
Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.
Children and Extra Bed Policy: Children cannot be accommodated at the hotel.

Deposit Policy: 100 percent of the first night will be charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable.
